Joyce lost her four month-old son, Garret, to a completely preventable circumstance: an unsafe sleeping condition that might have been avoided had the proper information been available. Calling upon the skills of her Advertising and Psychology degree from Syracuse University, Joyce created Keeping Babies Safe in the hope of protecting other families from tragedy and harm. Joyce lives in New Jersey with her husband and three daughters.

As founder and principal of R88, LLC, Rick brings to the table extensive experience in the juvenile and children’s product sector (clients including Defcon Skins, Free Range Toys, Wee Touch, Free Play Playgrounds, Somma and Monty’s Music.) Before founding R88, LLC, Rick was President & CEO of Shelcore Toys, where he managed $60 million vertically-integrated manufacturing and marketing of electronic, educational and traditional pre-school toys and juvenile products sold in 67 international markets including Wal-Mart, Target, Toys “R” Us and Kohl’s, and through 41 distributors worldwide. Graduate of Emerson College, Warren, NJ, resident for 20 years, Rick lives with his wife Lauren and their 3 children.

Director Emeritus, Keeping Babies Safe

Jack has been an advocate for child safety and injury prevention for the past nineteen years. Responsible for spearheading the movement to improve standards for baby cribs and other juvenile products, his leadership has been instrumental in preventing childhood injuries from these preventable causes. Working closely with consumers, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, legislators and the juvenile product industry, Jack is responsible for passing crib safety legislation in seven states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington State, and for introducing the National Infant Crib Safety Act. Jack was recently honored with the 2014 Margaret Dana Award. The Margaret Dana Award, established in 1979, is a prestigious award from the American Society for Testing and Materials’ (ASTM) Committee F15 on Consumer Products. ASTM International is one of the largest international standards development and delivery organizations in the world. Jack received the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of voluntary standards for consumer safety products.

Financial Controller, Keeping Babies Safe

Founder and President of StarKey Legal Search, a national legal recruiting firm located in New Jersey, Richard and his wife Joyce understand only too well the need for an organization like Keeping Babies Safe: It was the death of his and Joyce’s son Garret that gave rise to this important initiative. Richard hopes that Keeping Babies Safe will prevent other families from experiencing similar tragedies.

Stephanie is a board certified pediatrician in both General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. After completing both her residency and fellowship at Schneider Children’s Hospital of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, she relocated with her family to Northcentral New Jersey where after being in private practice for 23 years. Stephanie now devotes all of her time passionately to adolescent healthcare at Atlantic Health System. She divides her time between clinical care, teaching, lecturing, and community outreach. “To be involved in Keeping Babies Safe with such an important mission is exciting and extremely gratifying.”

Corey S. Bosin, MD, FACOG

Corey S. Bosin, MD, FACOG

Corey is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist who completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. He is currently the Director of Labor and Delivery at Morristown Medical Center and was previously in private practice for over 20 years. As a board member of Keeping Babies Safe, he brings expertise in medical risk management and quality assurance. Corey has a wonderful caring wife and two beautiful daughters.
